We all know that cruising is one of the best travel methods, and it’s even better when you’re on an NCL cruise ship. Recently I had the incredible experience of sailing on the NCL Encore Haven – and I can honestly say it was amazing. The staff was terrific, the food was delicious, and the amenities were top-notch. If you’re looking for a luxurious cruise experience, then be sure to check out NCL’s Encore ships – they won’t disappoint!

NCL Encore Haven: Butler Service
I didn’t know what to expect with this being my first time in the Haven. Butler? Did someone say, Butlers? I didn’t know what to think when I learned that we got a Butler. Butlers are not your personal assistants. They will bring snacks throughout the day, like finger sandwiches and some of your favorite candies to enjoy while they wait on you or just in general if there’s anything that needs setting up before then! Your butler also has all sorts of skills for when it comes time to get ready- white linen, so everything looks perfect no matter what type of meal(s) you’re having that evening.
Plus, any special restaurant dishes delivered straight from local hot spots like Cagney’s & La bistro around the ship…trust me – you don’t want anyone else doing this work except maybe yourself 😉
NCL Haven: Concierge
You’re also greeted by a concierge who is just available to Haven guests. When we arrived on the ship, they added another port due to Covid canceling one of our booked excursions, so I asked our concierge what might be interesting for us as it was not too far from the ship. She suggested swimming with dolphins-and let me say that experience was among some of the best ever! Not only did she make dinner reservations, but she would also get us seats to the shows or times to do the racetrack.
2. NCL Encore Haven: It’s perfect for guests who want to relax in peace and privacy.
The first thing I noticed about this place was how private it felt. The second that my feet never touched the ground as we walked into our haven, there was no turning back for any of us! We spent most of the time on their sun deck, where they had loungers ready to go, hot tubs with soothing music playing in the background, and someone walking around asking if you wanted something from the drink menu or help getting comfortable on your lounge chair before sunset begins. As we would relax for a sea day, we never needed to get up as we were treated like royalty. I’m so glad we made such a momentous decision by choosing wisely.
We didn’t have to fight crowds or long lines as soon as we passed security. We were directed into a different holding room where they had pastries and juice waiting for us!
The trip to the haven was like entering another world. As you were boarding, we were greeted by an understanding and compassionate staff member, who took you up in their special elevator for a relaxing ride. At the same time, introductions were made to other passengers on board- all of whom seemed very glad that they had chosen this travel option.
3. The NCL Encore Haven features include a private pool, sun deck, spa, and restaurant.
The NCL Encore Haven restaurant is an excellent place for those who want personalized service. They know us well enough that we can just tell them what kind of drinks and meals we prefer, so they always make sure our order tastes as good (or better) than any other time!
I remember the first time I asked my waitress for a shrimp cocktail. It was such an odd request because it wasn’t on the menu, but she didn’t seem to mind at all!
From that point on, we would always ask for her when it came to food. She really went out of her way and got me some shrimp cocktails! Every meal after that is even better because I know what a good thing she did by bringing me this yummy dish so unexpectedly without being asked first-hand.

The Thermal Spa is a hidden gem that you should definitely add to your itinerary if it’s available when traveling.
I learned about this amazing place during our trip and wish we could have spent more time there!
You can’t beat escaping the chaos of a big ship with some time alone. You deserve an escape, even if it’s only for 15 minutes!
The private pool and sun deck is your opportunity to relax in peace – no one should have trouble relaxing when they’re surrounded by beauty like this ship has on offer.
4. NCL Encore Haven: Guests can also enjoy priority boarding and disembarkation, complimentary beverages, and snacks.
There’s nothing like the feeling of being at sea and knowing you’re about to embark on a fantastic adventure.
I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like if there were some problem with our embarkation or disembarkation. Priority embarkation and disembarkation are a big deal. But having it be the first on, off of any ship? That’s just amazing!
We were directed to a special elevator on the final day, where our luggage promptly awaited on the ground floor. We got through quickly and incurred no loss of valuable time before heading to the airport for our flight!
5. NCL Encore Haven: Overall, I was very impressed with The NCL Encore Haven and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing cruise experience.
